Mathura’s Congress workers, some of them Muslims, had a major complaint against Hema Malini: because of her, the ancient Dwarkadhish temple kept its doors open although she arrived late for a darshan. “Nothing like this has ever happened before. Even Presidents R. Venkatraman and Zail Singh had to return because the temples doors were closed,” they complain. Ask the BJP workers and they give a different spin to it: “Think of Hema Malini’s love for Lord Krishna. Such is her faith that even Dwarkadhish’s priest forgot to shut the temple doors.” A case of view as you like it.
