Crime Branch of the Delhi police busted an interstate gang of drug peddlers and recovered fine quality heroin (smack) worth Rs 1 crore and Rs 3 Lakh from their possession in two separate incidents.
In the first incident information was received by SI Manoj Kumar that Vinod Kumar (30), who is resident of Mangol Pur Kalan, along with his associate Manoj aka Vicky (28) will bring the consignment by bus after procuring it from Bareilly. A team of officers led by ACP Sanjeev Kumar Tyagi laid a trap near Mangol Puri flyover and arrested Vinod and Manoj and recovered 300 gm and 700 gm heroin from their possession respectively.
Similarly, in another incident ACP Sanjeev Kumar Tyagi arrested Javed Ahmed (28) and recovered 200gm heroin. ACP Sanjeev Kumar Tyagi had laid a trap near Service Road, opposite Anand Vihar Railway Station, after an informer gave the tip. “All three peddlers come from a poverty-stricken background with minimum education. They came to Delhi in search of work but ended up in bad company,” a Delhi police official said.
