NEW DELHI

To mark the 350th coronation anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will organise a ‘Hindavi Swaraj Yatra’. The 2000-km-long yatra will commence on 28 November from Maharashtra and cover important places associated with Shivaji Maharaj’s life, including Shivneri and Raigarh, travel through various cities like Indore, Kanpur, and Agra, and finally conclude at ‘Indraprastha Nagar’, a tent city being developed at DDA Ground Burari during the National Conference of ABVP from 7-10 December. During the course of the yatra, various events and programmes will be organised at different locations during the journey, enlightening the youth about different aspects of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life, said the ABVP.

Speaking on this yatra, ABVP’s National General Secretary, Yagyvalkya Shukla, said, “The ‘Hindavi Swaraj Yatra’ will successfully connect the youth with various facets of Shivaji’s noble life. Through this journey, the youth will also become familiar with India’s rich cultural heritage. The Amrit Mahotsavi Conference to be organised by ABVP will significantly address educational and social issues through dialogues while making diverse efforts to rekindle India’s glory.”

Ashutosh Singh, National Media Convenor, ABVP, said, “The purpose of this yatra is to throw light on Shivaji Maharaj’s life and his idea of nationalism.” He fought against the introducer, and despite adverse conditions, he protected his motherland.
Speaking at the National Conference, Nirmal Kumar Minda, National President of the Reception Committee, said: “ABVP plays a crucial role in student leadership, contributing to positive changes in society. More than 1,500 ABVP activists will work towards making this grand event a success. This conference is significant as students from all regions, including Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh to Andaman and Nicobar, will actively participate in the National Conference.”
