Bail Granted To Malvinder Mohan Singh In Religare Finvest Scam Case

The Delhi High Court in the case Malvinder Mohan Singh v. The State of NCT of Delhi observed and has granted bail to Malvinder Mohan Singh, thus, erstwhile who being promoter of Religare Enterprises Limited, wherein it is alleged in the Religare Finvest scam case amounting to Rs.2397 crores.
The bench of Justice Amit Sharma in the case observed and has stated that there being no possible prejudice can be caused to prosecution’s case before the trial Court if Singh is released on bail with necessary conditions, especially when the bail is granted to other co-accused persons.
The court in the case stated that the investigation in the present case in complete and the main chargesheet and the subsequent chargesheet stand which is being filed before the learned Trial Court. Therefore, it is also being the admitted case that the evidence in the present case, which is primarily documentary in nature and all the material documents have been recovered and are in the custody of the prosecution. Further, it has been alleged before the court that Singh, in conspiracy with Shivinder Mohan Singh and Sunil Godhwani, caused RFL to give unsecured loans to the tune for an amount of Rs. 2,397 crores on a non-arms‘ length basis and without proper documentation to various shell companies which willfully defaulted in making the repayments.
In the present case, the FIR 50 of 2019 was being registered by the Economic Offence Wing of the Delhi Police on a complaint of Manpreet Singh Suri, the authorized representative of Religare Finvest Limited as stated under section 409, section 420 and section 120B of Indian Penal Code, 1860.
The bench of Justice Sharma in the case observed and has also granted regular bail to co accused persons Sunil Naraindas Godhwani, Kavi Arora and Rajender Aggarwal.
The counsel, Senior Advocate Sudhir Nandajog and Advocate Arjun Kakkar appeared for the applicant.
The counsel, ASC (Criminal) Sanjeev Bhandari and Advocates Kunal Mittal and Saurabh Tanwar represented for Delhi Police.
