Jesus Christ transforms life

opinionJesus Christ transforms life

Vincent Singh’s encounter with Christ brought about a visible change in his lifestyle. He had experienced freedom, forgiveness and a new life which Christ offers to all by His grace.

Vincent found himself humming under his breath. He often found himself whistling as he worked on his sketches in his diary. His brother and sisters watched him closely. What was Vincent so happy about? He was still going to college, completing assignments and helping at home. What was the reason for his ever ready smile and his willingness to help?

The siblings noticed a remarkable change. They found Vincent on his knees praying, every morning and at other times poring over his Bible. He started attending a Bible Study group regularly with other young people. Vincent no longer waited to be told what to do. He volunteered to run errands for his parents and to willingly escort his younger sisters to school.

He was genuinely happy with the joy of the Lord as he strummed his guitar and sang praises to God. At college, Vincent’s friends noticed a new radiance on his face and a spring in his step. He told his friends about the Lord Jesus and how happy he was knowing that his sins were forgiven and that he was a child of God. Some of his friends tried to tempt Vincent to smoke and to try liquor. Vincent firmly replied, “I can’t throw dirty smoke in my lungs. My body is the temple of God.” The boys realised they couldn’t get Vincent to do what they wanted. Deep down they respected him for his clear stand as he never made them feel that they were choosing unwisely but lovingly yet firmly he stood for what was right.

Vincent explained to his friends that the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Vincent’s life was transformed when his life was united with Christ.
