KCR to hold rallies in 90 Telangana constituencies

NewsKCR to hold rallies in 90 Telangana constituencies

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, is planning to conduct rallies in 90 constituencies before the Assembly elections in the state to ensure that his party repeats the government for the third time. The state has 119 Assembly seats.
The rallies are being seen to be important after the Congress has, apparently, posed a challenge to the incumbent party on several seats where the grand old party was expected to perform poorly. However, the internal surveys conducted by BRS show that the party will get majority on its own. The party is expecting more than 70 Assembly seats this time. A Congress leader said, “BRS does see itself challenged, the sentiment which was missing before the Karnataka elections. They thought that they will take the win home easily. Our ticket distribution has, more or less, been on surveys, while they have repeated their MLAs which will give us an edge as there is anti-incumbency on more than 25% of their seats. If we work hard on such seats, we can stop the ruling party to have majority on their own.” BRS leaders are of the belief that the weakening of BJP over the past few months has created this space which could help the Congress. A BRS leader said, “Due to the weakening of BJP, the Congress is getting a bit stronger, according to the assessments we have right now on ground. But how much the grand old party will be able to convert them into votes is to be seen.”
