NEW DELHI

A world record was created by performing a maximum number of bone densitometry tests in four hours at Aakash Healthcare Super Specialty Hospital.
In pursuit of its unwavering commitment to promoting health awareness and the significance of early diagnosis, it was successfully performed on the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day.

“It is a mortal disease as 30% of patients are not able to survive after osteoporosis fracture cause most of the time it is a spine fracture,” said Dr Aashish Chaudhry, Orthopedic surgeon.
Such awareness is important because according to statistics given by the World Health Organization (WHO), 61 million people in India have osteoporosis and 30% of postmenopausal women suffer from osteoporosis.

Sharing details of the remarkable event, Dr Chaudhry, said, “To ensure the triumph of this endeavour, we have adopted a meticulously crafted ‘Hub and Spoke Model’. In addition, 16 different spoke locations will be established throughout Delhi-NCR. These targeted locations will feature dedicated teams of paramedical staff, nurses, and supporting personnel, all working in unison to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and care for all participants.”

Furthermore, the hospital has adopted a comprehensive and thorough approach in terms of record-keeping and documentation. They have assembled a skilled team of photographers, videographers, and media professionals to capture every facet of this historic event. Their objective is to diligently document each moment, from the first test to the final count. This comprehensive approach ensures that the event’s impact will extend far beyond its duration.

To ensure real-time data acquisition of each individual and seamless coordination across all locations, our team has seamlessly integrated a Cloud-based application, Google Sheets, into their operations. This innovative technology will help in maintaining a clear overview of the event’s progress, ensuring they meet their ambitious goal of conducting a maximum number of tests within the given time frame.

“The significance of this event cannot be overstated. Osteoporosis is a debilitating condition that affects millions of people worldwide, often without even realizing it. Early diagnosis and prevention are essential in the fight against this silent disease, which is why we have embarked on this mission to raise awareness,” Dr Chaudhry said. About the challenges involved, he said, “Detailing and execution on the ground with speed is a major concern.”
