Th new Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Public Work Department (PWD), and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have accomplished all work related to the G20 summit that will be held next week.
The first-ever G20 summit in both India and South Asia, it will take place on 9–10 September at the recently inaugurated state-of-the-art International Exhibition and Convention Centre Bharat Mandapam (IECC) at Pragati Maidan. The NDMC has almost completed all beautification work for the summit, officials said.
Ahead of the G20 summit, the NDMC has installed 1,200 LED panels on electric poles and revamped 250 electric boxes. An official said, “They are adorned with messages, images, and photographs depicting Indian culture, animals, etc.
Additionally, the G20 logo is displayed, India’s role as the G20 chair for this year. This thoughtful integration of the scenery adds a touch of grandeur to the cityscape and creates a captivating effect of illumination for passers-by at night.” The NDMC’s Integrated Command and Control Centre will be used to manage traffic congestion, check the maintenance of beautification, and coordinate the movement of delegates from hotels to the summit
