UP ATS reveals details of Seema Haider’s journey to India

NewsUP ATS reveals details of Seema Haider’s journey to India

Seema Haider, who travelled to India from Pakistan to meet her PUBG lover Sachin, has been hogging the headlines in the Indian media, giving interviews. This unusual story began on the gaming app PUBG, where they met for the first time and their romance started. Her journey to India is no less than a roller-coaster ride, travelling first to Dubai, then a connecting flight to Kathmandu, Nepal, crossing the border to India, and arriving in Greater Noida.

On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh ATS said it recovered four mobile phones, five Pakistani passports, and an unauthorised passport. In a statement, DGP UP presented Haider’s detailed journey plan from Pakistan to India. According to UP ATS, her husband had gone to Saudi Arabia in 2019 for work. He used to send 70–80 thousand Pakistani rupees a month for household activities. With funds from relatives, she managed to buy a house worth 12 Pakistani rupees, which she eventually sold so that she could come to India. She took a flight from Karachi on 10 March to Sharjah and then a connecting flight to Kathmandu on a tourist visa. Meanwhile, her lover Sachin reached Gorakhpur and then Kathmandu. He booked a hotel in Kathmandu and spent seven days in the same hotel.

Two months later, she got a tourist visa and reached Dubai with her four children. A day later, she flew to Kathmandu and reached Pokhara on 11 May, where she spent a night in a hotel. She then boarded a bus from Pokhara to the Khunwa border in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharth Nagar and entered India. She travelled to Lucknow and Agra and reached Gautambuddh Nagar on 13 May, where Sachin had already rented a room.

According to a media report, the ATS asked her to read a few lines in English, which she did perfectly. She also spoke perfect English during the interrogation. It was also revealed that Seema Haider mostly reached out to people from Delhi’s capital region while playing PUBG, the game where she met Sachin. The ATS also questioned Seema about her kin and the claims of her uncle and brother serving in the Pakistani Army.

UP Special DG, Law and Order, told reporters that “agencies are doing their work. This matter is linked to two nations; it is not the right time to say anything without substantial evidence. She had once been in jail and is now out on bail. We are further investigating the matter.”
