Dear friends, as we journey through this season of Lent, it’s essential to confront our weaknesses and be open before God honestly. Let us take comfort in the fact that Jesus is our comforter, as the writer of Hebrews reminds us in Hebrews 4:16. Jesus, our high priest, is not distant or aloof from our struggles and weaknesses. Instead, He sympathizes with us, having experienced every temptation and trial we face, yet He remained without sin. This truth should fill us with hope and confidence as we approach God’s throne of grace. We can come boldly, knowing that we will receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. No matter what challenges or temptations we encounter, we can rest assured that Jesus is there for us, ready to extend His grace and support. During this Lenten season, let us take advantage of the opportunity to draw near God in prayer and reflection. Let us confidently approach His throne, laying our burdens and struggles before Him. As we do so, may we experience the abundant mercy and grace that He offers, finding strength and comfort for the journey ahead.
May we be encouraged by the knowledge that we do not walk this path alone but that Jesus walks beside us, guiding us with His love and compassion. May His presence sustain us, and His grace empowers us to overcome every obstacle that stands in our way. Let us pray: “Heavenly Father, as your children through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, we thank you for the assurance that we have in Jesus Christ, our compassionate high priest. As we journey through this Lenten season, may we confidently draw near to You, knowing that You are always ready to extend Your mercy and grace to us. Help us to lean on You in times of weakness and temptation, trusting in Your unfailing love to sustain us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”
