TSG On WeekdaysBJP Unveils Second Manifesto Promising Free Education from KG to PG; AAP Labels It 'Dangerous' for Delhi and the Nation

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday unveiled the second part of its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections by launching the ‘Sankalp Patra’ Part 2. BJP MP Anurag Thakur introduced the manifesto in the presence of senior party leaders from Delhi. While AAP National Convenor criticized BJP’S manifesto and said, that the manifesto released by the ruling party in the centre was “dangerous” for the national capital and country.

The second manifesto focuses on providing free education for students in government institutions, establishing a welfare board for auto-rickshaw drivers and domestic workers, and ensuring life insurance for them. It also includes a promise to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged corruption during the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s tenure.

During the launch, BJP MP Anurag Thakur stated, “We will provide free education from kindergarten to post-graduation for needy students in Delhi’s government education institutions.” He also announced, “Delhi’s youth will receive one-time financial assistance of ₹15,000 to prepare for competitive exams, along with reimbursement for two-time travel and application fees. This is Modi ji’s guarantee.”

The manifesto also prioritizes marginalized students, promising a ₹1,000 monthly stipend for Scheduled Caste students enrolled in technical and professional courses under the ‘Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Scheme.’ The BJP pledged a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption and assured collaboration with the MCD and NDMC to address key issues faced by Delhi residents.

Additionally, the BJP’s Sankalp Patra proposes doubling the number of beneficiaries under the Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme, which provides collateral-free loans to street vendors in Delhi. Thakur emphasized the Modi government’s track record of eliminating middlemen and implementing welfare schemes through Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT), underscoring its strict anti-corruption stance.

Thakur also accused the AAP of providing shelter to Rohingya Muslims and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Delhi. He alleged, “On the instructions of Arvind Kejriwal ji, Atishi ji, and AAP leaders, Rohingya Muslims and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are being sheltered in Delhi.”

On the other hand, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal strongly criticized the BJP’s manifestos for Delhi, and said that the manifesto released by the ruling party in the centre was “dangerous” for the national capital and country.
accusing the party of planning to dismantle welfare schemes like free education in government schools and free healthcare at Mohalla Clinics. He condemned the BJP’s proposal to restrict free education to only “needy” students, calling it an attack on Delhi’s education revolution benefiting 1.8 million children.

Kejriwal highlighted the financial burden families would face, estimating ₹15,000 extra monthly expenses due to private school fees and medical costs if these welfare schemes are discontinued. He warned that the BJP’s policies threaten the financial stability of middle-class and poor families, labeling them “dangerous” and a reversal of progress in equitable access to services. Urging voters to reject the BJP, Kejriwal emphasized, “Their plans will make living in Delhi unaffordable. Do not mistakenly vote for a party that openly admits its intent to harm Delhi’s citizens.”

Notably, Earlier, the BJP released the first part of its manifesto, highlighting plans to improve healthcare, empower women, support senior citizens, and enhance access to essential services. Key promises included six nutritional kits and ₹21,000 financial assistance under the Matritva Suraksha Yojana for pregnant women and ₹2,500 aid under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.

Similarly, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced several welfare schemes ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, aiming to regain voter trust after setbacks caused by the imprisonment of key leaders, which weakened its grassroots presence. Notable initiatives include the Pujari-Granthi Samman Yojana, Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, Dr. Ambedkar Samman Scholarship, Incorrect Water Bill Waiver, Free Bus Services for Students, and Sanjeevani Yojana.

Congress, too, has launched welfare programs like the Pyaari Didi and Jeevan Raksha Yojana to counter AAP’s welfare-driven model, focusing on healthcare and women’s empowerment to regain relevance in Delhi.
