Passport related problems of people of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are likely to be resolved soon. People will not need to bother with any broker or agent to get a new passport. For this, four new passport making vans have been launched from Chandigarh Sector 34A Passport Regional Office.

Regional Passport Officer (RPO), IFS officer Priyanka Mehtani has assigned the task of making passports through vans to the employees today itself, for the convenience of the people. In the first week, all four vans will be parked near the passport office. However, after some time, these vans will go to different locations of Chandigarh daily. With this, people will be able to save time of traveling to Sector-34 Passport Office for solving passport related problems; one can even get one’s passport made from your home by appointment.

People of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh will have to first go to passportindia.gov.in website and take an appointment to get a new passport made through the passport making van. After this, according to the mentioned time and date, you will have to reach the current location of the van, get your photo, bio-metric impression of hands and documents checked and apply for a passport. This entire work will be done by the employees present in the van, the applicant only has to reach with his documents.

Two employees have been put on duty on every passport making van launched from Chandigarh. According to this, a total of eight employees will be on duty in all four vans, who will complete the documents and other processes. This will not only reduce the workload of the Regional Passport Office located in Chandigarh, but will also provide great relief to the applicants.
