Honda Cars India (HCIL), registered monthly domestic sales of 7,142 units in February 2024 with a strong growth of over 17 per cent in comparison to the corresponding month last year. The export numbers for HCIL stood at 5,936 units in February’24. This is the highest ever monthly export volume clocked by the company that has been fuelled by strong export performance of cars made in India and exported to multiple global markets.

“The performance in February has been as per plan,” says Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing & Sales. The Honda Elevate maintains its strong performance, further strengthening its presence in the market. The Honda City and Amaze also continue to perform well in their respective segments. In addition, our export performance has also been robust. The company had registered 6,086 units in domestic sales and exported 973 units in February’ 23.

Honda Cars India has strengthened its commitment towards the members of the Indian Armed Forces by offering the Honda Elevate in Canteen Store Departments (CSD) across the country to serve the armed forces community with premium automotive solutions.

Designed with the concept of ‘Urban Freestyler’, the Honda Elevate boasts a bold and masculine design and is equipped with a powerful 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine paired with 6-speed MT and 7-speed CVT automatic transmissions. Hyundai Motor India registered total sales of 60 501 units in February 2024, including domestic sales of 50 201 units, achieving a 6.8 per cent growth and export sales of 10 300 units.

This continues the strong momentum with the newly launched Hyundai CRETA leading the charge, with sale of 15 276 units in February, according to Tarun Garg, COO. This incidentally is the highest ever monthly sales recorded by ‘Brand CRETA’ since its inception in India more than 8 years back in 2015. February month also witnessed the Hyundai CRETA surpass a historical milestone of 1 million sales since its launch.

The company also launched bookings open for the upcoming Hyundai CRETA N Line which aims at fuelling dreams and aspirations of customers by inducing advanced, sporty and even more dynamic driving experiences. Mahindra & Mahindra posted overall auto sales of 72,923 vehicles for the month of February 2024, a growth of 24 per cent including exports. In the utility vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 42,401 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 40 per cent and overall, 42,941 vehicles, including exports.

The domestic sales for commercial vehicles stood at 22,825. According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, the company sold a total of 42,401 SUVs in February, with a growth of 40 per cent and 72,923 total vehicles, a 24 per cent growth over last year. In February 2024, Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 197,471 units. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 163,397 units, sales to other OEM of 5,147 units and exports of 28,927 units.

Tata Motors’ sales in the domestic and international market for February 2024 stood at 86,406 vehicles, compared to 79,705 units during February 2023. Domestic sale of MH&ICV in February 2024, including trucks and buses, stood at 16,227 units, compared to 17,282 units in February 2023. Total sales for MH&ICV domestic and international business in February 2024, including trucks and buses, stood at 16,663 units compared to 17,928 units in February 2023.

Continuing the year with its massive double-digit growth, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) achieved overall sales of 4,58,711 units, registering a healthy 86 per cent yoy growth. This includes domestic sales of 4,13,967 units and 44,744 units exports. The domestic sales for the month registered a strong 82 per cent yoy growth while the exports grew a massive 122 per cent over the same period of last year.

Chennai based TVS Motor Company recorded monthly sales of 368,424 units in February 2024 with a growth of 33 per cent as against 276,150 units in February 2023. Total two-wheelers registered a growth of 34 per cent with sales increasing from 267,026 units in February 2023 to 357,810 units in February 2024. Domestic two wheeler registered growth of 21 per cent with sales increasing from 221,402 units in February 2023 to 267,502 units in February 2024.

Motorcycle registered a growth of 46 per cent with sales increasing from 126,243 units in February 2023 to 184,023 units in February 2024. Scooter registered a growth of 26 per cent with sales increasing from 104,825 units in February 2023 to 132,152 units in February 2024. Sales of EV registered a growth of 16 per cent with sales increasing from 15,522 units in February 2023 to 17,959 units in February 2024.

The Company’s total exports grew by 85 petr cent increasing from 53,405 units registered in February 2023 to 98,856 units in February 2024. Two-wheeler exports registered a growth of 98 per cent with sales increasing from 45,624 units registered in February 2023 to 90,308 units in February 2024. Three-wheeler registered a growth of 16 per cent with sales increasing from 9,124 units in February 2023 to 10,614 units in February 2024.
