For her big day she opted a burgundy and red saree-style lehenga by designer TarunTahiliani.The saree was embellished with Swarovski crystals. Shilpa wore heavy kundan jewellery and tied her hair in a braid covered with flowers. She was dressed like a traditional south Indian bride.

The elder daughter of superstars Hema Malini and Dharmendra married businessman Bharat Takhtani on 29 June, 2012. She had a temple wedding. Deol wore a bright red and golden lehenga, designed by Neeta Lulla. Three heavy Kanjeevaram sarees, which were specially ordered from South India, made her wedding lehenga. The dress was complemented with heavy traditional temple jewellery in gold.
