I have said my final goodbye
to me
Like the crunch of appetizers
the young wood of the Mango tree
crackles in anticipation
of the fruit above
Such was a meal worth the wait
For sixty plus years
The fire of passion which created me
waited, with deft disguise
for me, this me
I leave my wealth to someone
my jewellery to my nieces
who will put them
in safe security lockers
but rarely on themselves
My manuscripts I shall entrust to the one
I leave my assets to,
Trusting him to look after my staff
who had put up with my eccentricities
with aplomb
I shall leave behind anecdotes about myself
my clothes to whoever wants it
They will blanch at the number
Of undergarments I owned.
I have written myself away
my love bundled up anyhow,
Which I shall leave for you
my darling
from whom I had taken it
as a lifelong trusteeship
