Debut designer Sanya Jain launched a fine leather brand SVJ last Wednesday at ‘The Dirty Martini’, were she had displayed her collection of textured clutches downstairs and a range of bags were showcased on the terrace.
The collection pieces together a variety of colours and leather textures that together leave a lasting impression. Designs ranged from enlarged envelopes, long string bags to structured rectangular box clutches, some studded with pearls and other embellishments.
The vibrant colours that defined the collection, ranged from classy reds, vibrant orange and embossed black to elegant shades of grey and striking metallics. The common theme that seems to run in the work was the use of embossed and patent leathers using anaconda, ostrich, Croco leather on a zebra and leopard finish. Sanya V Jain celebrated this special day with friends and supporters who included actor Irfan Khan, former Indian cricket captain and Congress MP Mohammad Azharuddin, Mrs. Ujwala Sushil Kumar Shinde, Tanisha & Robby Mohan, Kalyani Saha, Pernia, and Moin Qureshi, Punit Juneja among many others. The attraction of the event was definitely the massive bar which served drinks that were personally chosen by the host and the life size clutch in zebra print, inside which the guests were more than thrilled to get their pictures taken against. The campaign shoot was launched at the event by Mrs Ujwala Sushil Kumar Shinde, shot by photographer Mehtab Mann, featuring fashion entrepreneur Pernia Qureshi, and fashion Stylist Edward Larempuia.
