In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police has uncovered an illegal immigration racket facilitating the entry of Bangladeshi nationals into India using forged documents.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday at Delhi Police Headquarters in New Delhi, DCP Ankit Chauhan of South District revealed that five Bangladeshi nationals alongside six individuals accused of forging fake documents.
have been arrested alongside.

According to the police, the matter came to the light with the murder of Sentu Sheikh alias Raja, whose death led police to uncover a broader network involved in creating fake Indian IDs and other forged documents.

The accused utilized a fake website, ‘JANTAPRINTS.SITE’ to generate fraudulent birth certificates and IDs.

This online platform allegedly facilitated the creation of forged documents for as little as Rs 20, the police said.

“The illegal immigrants used jungle routes and express trains to enter Indian territory,” said DCP Chauhan.

When being asked to comment by The Sunday Guardian if these accused were also a part of any drug or terror syndicate, DCP Chauhan said that “as of now, we haven’t revealed any such thing but we are carrying the further investigation.”

As of now, as many as 21 fake Aadhaar cards, four voter IDs, and eight PAN cards have been recovered during the operation.

This development comes at a time when the BJP and AAP are engaged in a political battle over the influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and this issues has become a key poll plank ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections that are likely to happen in February 2025.
