France has committed 600 million euro for smart cities mission in India in 2015, Ambassador of France to India François Richier told the media in a special press meet in the Embassy of France here on Friday.
“We are sincere about the implementation of AFD’s (French Development Agency) commitment to provide 2 billion Euros to India over the next three years of loans (sovereign and non-sovereign) to support smart cities and sustainable development in India. We are also committed to support green and inclusive growth in India,” he said.
Lauding PM Modi’s smart cities mission, Richier said the project’s targets were achievable and that France has already selected Nagpur, Pondicherry and Chandigarh, where it would collaborate with India to transform them into urban hubs.
