Youth killed in valley as mob clashes with police
A youth was killed when CRPF allegedly opened fire on the protesters at Zainakote on the outskirts of Srinagar. The protestors were pelting stones on vehicles carrying back those who had attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Srinagar to the northern district of Kupwara, police sources said. They said that the youth succumbed to his injuries in hospital after he was hit by a tear smoke canister on his head. However, locals alleged that he was killed in a CRPF firing. Many protesters were injured as they damaged many vehicles which were ferrying back the rally attendants, police sources said.
