The first day of MFW 2016 was eventful. Actress RaveenaTandon added grace to the collection while walking on the ramp for designer Jayanthi Ballal. Ballal showcased her Kanchivaram line which was an eclectic creation that focused on tradition woven with a modern touch. Bright and vibrant colours lighted up the whole line of designs. The designer has created a perfect blend of ethnic techniques and contemporary styles. Her ethnic designs are perfect for the wedding season.
Elli Avram walked for designer Rajyalakshmi Gubba
Glamorous Elli Avram took to the runway for Rajyalakshmi Gubba as the showstopper wearing a beautiful blue banarsi saree. The designer specialises in banarsi silk sarees, which are custom made from the heritage city of Varnasi/Banaras. The collection took inspiration from lord shiva motifs, rudrakash abstraction and heritage jewelry. Therefore the collection has a lot of bright colours and mythological episodes.
Diandra Soares walked for designer Rohit Verma
Ace Designer Rohit Verma’s mesmerising collection showcased the story of drapes. Drama of drapes was inspired from nature for today’s modern woman. Diandra Soares who was the contestant of Big Boss 8, walked for Verma’s designs. The drapes were funky and flowing in georgette with rococo art printed layer. The collections itself is quite unique and innovative.
Pranitha Subhash walked for designer Shravan Kummar
Pranitha Subhash who is a well-known face of south Indian films, was present at the finale, for designer Shravan Kummar. The collection showcased a range of hand painted sarees and modern silhouttes that exemplify the vivid colors in a woman’s life. The aim of this collection is to show women as elegant, modern, graceful and urban yet rooted to her traditional ethos.
