Sagem (Safran) delivered the first 150 JIM LR 2 multifunction long-range infrared binoculars to the French army, on 5 December 2012. This was in line with the original delivery schedule.
The delivery was a part of the JIR TTA NG (1) program, covering a total of 1,175 multifunction binoculars. The program contract was awarded by the French defence procurement agency to Sagem, as prime contractors, in December 2010.
