NEW DELHI

Hyundai Motor India registered total sales of 68 728 units in October 2023, which was 18.48 per cent higher yoy. Total sales for the month of October 2023 include domestic dispatches of 55,128 units, a yoy growth of 14.84 per cent and export of
13,600 units, a 35.93 per cent increase over the corresponding quarter of FY23.


Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India sees the robust sales number as a follow-on of the recent announcement of standardizing of 6 airbags across all Hyundai models and variants which has been extremely well received by customers. “Also, the supply situation is back to full normalcy and our network is geared up to delight customers with the delivery of their favourite Hyundai cars,” says Garg.


Honda Cars India registered monthly domestic sales of 9,400 units in October backed by strong demand for its new SUV Elevate. The export numbers for HCIL stood at 3,683 units in Oct’23. The company had registered 9,543 in domestic sales and exported 1,678 units in Oct’22.


Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd indicated the strong demand during the festival period with incredible response for the Elevate from customers as the driver. “We are actively working to meet the strong demand for Elevate. The Honda City and Amaze models have also maintained their good performance. As we near the auspicious celebrations of Dhanteras and Diwali, our dealerships are focusing on maximising deliveries to our esteemed customers and making them a part of the Honda family,” promised Murata. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M Ltd.), achieved overall highest sales ever with 80,679 units in October 2023, a growth of 32 per cent, including exports. In the utility vehicles segment, Mahindra recorded the highest sales for the fourth consecutive month, selling 43,708 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 36 per cent and overall, 44,264 vehicles, including exports.
The domestic sales for Commercial Vehicles stood at 25,715 units, also the highest-ever. According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, both SUVs and CVs individually achieved highest ever volumes for the third consecutive month at 43,708 and 25,715 vehicles respectively. “While the strong festive demand should see us continue our growth momentum in November, we will keep a close watch of select supply related challenges,” said Nakra. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) registered a growth of 10 per cent in its total sales of 4,92,884 units in the same month this year. While the company recorded 9 per cent growth in the domestic market with 4,62,747 units, the exports grew by 29 per cent with 30,137 units in October 2023.
