Get set, glamed and dolled up on Eid

Eid is a special occasion, and celebrating it involves looking and feeling your best. This often includes taking care of your skin and enhancing your beauty routine. Here are some beauty and skincare ideas with quick fixes to help you prepare for Eid and feel confident on this special occasion.

Pre-Eid Skin & Haircare Routine:
To look flawless on Eid, follow a good skincare routine. Besides cleansing, remember to exfoliate, tone, and moisturize your skin. You can make a DIY cleanser and exfoliator at home by mixing a tablespoon of gram flour, curd, and rose water. Apply it on your face, massage, and rinse off. Curd and gram flour help remove dirt, while rose water hydrates the skin, giving you a radiant complexion.

DIY Face Masks:
Natural ingredients are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, offering multiple skin benefits. For a DIY mask, mix a tablespoon of activated charcoal powder and bentonite clay with apple cider vinegar to form a paste. Apply evenly to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. Follow with moisturizer.

Hand and Feet Masks:
Don’t forget to care for your hands, feet, and nails. Trim and buff your nails, then make a paste of turmeric and curd to apply on your hands. Let it dry, massage, and rinse off, then moisturize with hand cream. For your feet, soak them in warm water with rock salt for 10 minutes, scrub with a pumice stone, apply the turmeric-curd paste, let it dry, rinse, and moisturize.

Deep Condition Your Hair:
For healthy hair, deep condition by massaging lukewarm coconut oil into your scalp and leaving it for 30 minutes before washing with herbal shampoo. Alternatively, apply a mixture of curd and egg to your scalp and hair. Curd cleanses the scalp and keeps it cool, while egg nourishes and conditions.

Hair Masks:
Hair masks are essential for repairing and strengthening hair. Mix a mashed banana with honey and oil, apply to damp hair, and leave for 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Banana softens hair, honey locks in moisture, and oil conditions deeply. Another option is mixing aloe vera gel with coconut oil, applying to scalp and hair, leaving it on for 30 minutes to an hour, then rinsing with lukewarm water. Aloe vera promotes healthy hair growth, while coconut oil conditions and reduces protein loss.

Eid Beauty Hacks and Tips:
Dark Circles:
Cold Compress: Use a cold compress or chilled spoon under your eyes to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Cucumber Slices: Place chilled cucumber slices over your eyes for 10-15 minutes to hydrate and brighten the under-eye area.
Concealer: Use a full-coverage concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone. Dab and blend gently with your ring finger or a beauty blender.
Long-Lasting Makeup Tips for Eid:
Hydrating Primer: For dry skin, use a hydrating primer to create a smooth base and prevent foundation from clinging to dry patches.
Mattifying Primer: For oily skin, use a mattifying primer to control shine and keep your makeup in place.
Long-Wear Foundation: Choose a long-wear foundation that suits your skin type. Apply with a damp beauty sponge for a natural, flawless finish.
Waterproof Eyeliner: Choose waterproof eyeliner and mascara to avoid smudging. Apply mascara on both upper and lower lashes.
Lip Liner: Line your lips before applying lipstick to prevent feathering and increase longevity. For a matte finish, apply lipstick, then place a tissue over your lips and dust setting powder over it. Remove the tissue for a long-lasting effect.
Setting Spray: Finish your makeup with a setting spray to keep it intact throughout the day. Choose a formula for either a matte or dewy finish.
Blotting Papers: Carry blotting papers to absorb excess oil. Dab, don’t rub, to maintain your makeup.
Setting Powder: Keep a setting powder handy to set your makeup and keep oil at bay.
Hair Serum: Apply anti-frizz serum or a few drops of argan oil to tame flyaways and add shine. Mix argan oil and water for a DIY hair spray.

By following these tips and routines, you can look and feel your best, making your Eid celebrations even more special.
