DT Cinemas hosted a glamorous and snazzy red carpet premiere of the Mel Gibson starrer Get the Gringo at DLF Place Mall Saket on 17 January. The film, alternatively titled How I Spent My Summer Vacation is directed by Adrian Grunberg, and produced, co-written by Mel Gibson.
The Gringo (a Mexican slang for an American), played by Gibson is convicted and sent to a Mexican prison for stealing money from an American mafia and breaking across the Mexican border. As he learns his way through the town-like prison, he meets and befriends a 10-year-old boy whose liver is sought after by Javi, an inmate “boss” who controls rackets and privileges within the prison, due to their rare blood type. It is up to the titular gringo to save the boy’s life and the life of the boy’s mother, and also break out of prison.
