ArthKranti of demonetisation fame wants a strike on income tax

NewsArthKranti of demonetisation fame wants a strike on income tax
ArthKranti, an organization campaigning for the abolition of higher denomination currency notes has proposed five radical measures to the government which, it believes, would lead to principled, prosperous and peaceful living in the country. The first one is withdrawal of existing taxation system completely except for customs and import duties and imposition of a bank transaction tax on every transaction routed through a bank.
The organization also wants cash transactions to be exempt from taxation and legal provisions to restrict them to a certain limit.
Another proposal is the complete withdrawal of high denomination currency.
Members of ArthaKranti had met senior BJP leaders before 2014 Lok Sabha elections and presented these proposals to them. They are hoping the government would finally listen to them.
