recent ministerial meetings suggests that changes in the cabinet could be on the horizon. Reports indicate that the Prime Minister has given clear instructions to his ministers about their work.
After the election of the new BJP president, expected to conclude this month, Prime Minister Modi will begin working with a revamped team. By next month, the BJP’s new team will likely be unveiled, paving the way for potential changes in the government. This timing is particularly significant, as next month will mark the completion of one year of Prime Minister Modi’s third term. It is anticipated that the changes in both the party and the government will occur around the same time, signaling a new phase in Modi’s leadership heading into the next electoral cycle.

PM Modi took the oath of office on June 9 last year, but he did not make any significant changes to the cabinet in his second term. In his third term, most of the ministers retained their previous portfolios. Positions like that of the Speaker also remained unchanged. For the first time, the BJP secured a majority with the help of new allies, so the Prime Minister did not push for any major reshuffling. In contrast, in the previous two terms, the BJP had achieved a majority on its own, which eliminated the need for external party support to form the government. Despite this, the NDA partners were included in the government, and it continued to function smoothly.

During the 2024 general elections, the opposition attempted to derail the BJP’s chances of securing a majority by spreading false propaganda, claiming the Constitution was at risk and that reservation would be abolished. However, the NDA still emerged with a majority.
