Delhi food joint murder: Police suspect gang rivalry

NewsDelhi food joint murder: Police suspect gang rivalry

NEW DELHI: The murder is believed to be part of a gang rivalry as gangster Himanshu Bhau took the responsibility of the attack through his social media posts. The woman dining with the victim is also a suspect in the case.

In a shocking incident at a Burger King outlet in the national capital’s Rajouri Garden area, a 26-year-old man Aman Joon was shot multiple times by a group of men. The victim hailed from Jhajjar, Haryana,

The terrifying event was captured on the eatery’s CCTV cameras and revealed the harrowing moments. The assailants, posing as diners, opened fire at point-blank range, causing customers and staff to flee in a desperate attempt to save their lives. The murder is believed to be part of a gang rivalry as gangster Himanshu Bhau took the responsibility of the attack through his social media posts. The woman dining with the victim is also a suspect in the case. Authorities are investigating this tragic incident as part of a larger gang war.

A new development has emerged in the murder. Police sources indicate that Portugal-based gangster Bhau assigned one of his female associates, Anu, to lure the victim to the location. Anu, a 24-year-old woman with ambitions of becoming a don, entered the underworld and developed a close association with the notorious Bhau. This connection provided her with the opportunity to orchestrate the murder plot.

The investigation uncovered that Anu had been missing for several months, with her family filing a missing person’s report at a police station in Rohtak. Anu, who remains at large, is wanted in multiple cases in Haryana, and state police are actively searching for her.

Anu had been in contact with Himanshu Bhau’s associates for some time and even visited them in prison. The Delhi Police are currently on the lookout for her. Previously, Bhau, on his social media account, stated that a total of 40 gunshots were fired in the incident.
In recent times, several active gangs have been noted in Delhi-NCR. Although the Delhi Police is trying hard to eliminate their roots, several arrests have been made, including nabbing their kingpin members. Here is a look at several gangs operating in Delhi.

The first and oldest name is Neeraj Bawana. Once Delhi’s most wanted, he was arrested in 2015, but his gang remains active in crimes like extortion, robbery, and contract killings. They use social media to issue threats and boast about their activities. Bawana’s involvement was noted in the murder of gangster Jitender Gogi in 2021. His gang infamously demanded “Neeraj Tax” from traders, extorting sums ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Bawana’s turf wars, particularly with rival Nitu Dabodia, who was killed in 2013, led to ongoing violence in Alipur, Bawana, and Rohini.

Tillu Tajpuriya, operating from Delhi’s jails, orchestrated the murder of his rival Jitender Gogi, continuing their feud that claimed numerous lives over a decade. Kala Jathedi, previously one of Delhi Police’s most wanted, was arrested in 2021. He collaborated with Bawana’s rivals and was involved in extorting traders in urban villages like Dwarka and Rohini, often resorting to violent methods.

Jitender Gogi, killed by Tillu Tajpuriya’s gang, had been engaged in a deadly rivalry that persists even after his death.

The Gogi and Tajpuriya gangs continue their confrontations within Delhi’s prison system, where authorities separate them to prevent further violence.

The latest addition to these gangs is the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang. Earlier, his gang used to operate in areas around Chandigarh, Rajasthan, but now he is operating in Delhi, and according to a source, he is planning to take over the nexus completely. Bishnoi, a notorious gangster primarily based in Rajasthan, has had a presence and influence extending to Delhi, NCR.

His gang is known for its involvement in organized crime, including extortion, contract killings, and various illegal activities. Bishnoi gained notoriety for his alleged involvement in high-profile cases, including Sidhu Moosewala’s murder.

Delhi, NCR, Bishnoi’s gang has been implicated in instances of violence and extortion, targeting businesses and individuals for financial gains. The gang operates with a degree of sophistication, utilizing both local and trans-state networks to carry out its activities.
