Erstwhile royal families associated with Congress desert party

NewsErstwhile royal families associated with Congress desert party

In the politics of power, Congress has been benefiting from the support of established royal families for decades, leveraging their old credibility and public support. Even the royal families have benefited from politics and public support. However, in recent years, most leaders from royal families have become frustrated with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s wrong policies and are gradually joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party. The Scindia family of Gwalior, Diya Kumari of Jaipur, members of the Mewar family of Udaipur, the Rajmata of the Gaekwad family of Baroda, Captain Amarinder Singh of Patiala, and the members of the royal family of Jammu and Kashmir, including Dr Karan Singh, have either shifted or are shifting towards the BJP.

And now, with a rebellious attitude towards Congress, Vikramaditya Singh of the princely state of Shimla and his mother Pratibha Singh have started praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some leaders of Congress have tried to stop the political war, but Vikramaditya has hinted at joining the BJP by removing his introduction as a Congress leader and MLA from social media. Interestingly, Vikramaditya of Himachal Pradesh is directly or indirectly connected to the families of Captain Amarinder Singh, Dr Karan Singh, and the Scindias.

He is related to the daughters and daughters-in-law of all the three families. Vikramaditya is married to the daughter of Veer Bhadra Singh and the granddaughter of Dr Karan Singh. The marriage of Chitrangada, daughter of Madhavrao Scindia, is with Vikramaditya, son of Karan Singh. Amidst the political crisis in Himachal Pradesh, Congress appears to be in disarray. While some Congress legislators are standing in support of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, some are against him. In the coming days, many things may change. Vikramaditya Singh resigned from the ministerial post in a press conference in a very emotional manner.

During this, he also accused CM Sukhu of many things. It is also alleged that in order to install a statue of the late Veer Bhadra Singh, a dedicated Congress worker who served as chief minister and central minister six times in the state, a piece of land has not been given. Vikramaditya Singh is the son of former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Veer Bhadra Singh. After his father’s death in 2021, he was made the king. He was born on 17 October 1989. After studying at Bishop’s School in Himachal Pradesh, he graduated from Delhi University. He also received a degree in history from St. Stephen’s College.

Vikramaditya Singh entered politics in 2013. After joining the Himachal Pradesh Congress, Vikramaditya became the president of the Youth Congress. He held the post of president until 2017. In 2017, he became an MLA for the first time from Shimla and then in the 2022 Assembly elections, he defeated Ravi Kumar Mehta of the BJP by more than 13,000 votes to become an MLA and minister. Still, he and the state president of his party, Pratibha Singh, were constantly neglected.

The high command, that is, Rahul Gandhi’s advisory team, gave complete exemption to their favorite Sukhu. Six MLAs who raised the flag of rebellion with Vikramaditya have now been expelled from the Assembly. Now the matter is before the court. On the other hand, Congress candidate Abhishek Singhvi lost in the Rajya Sabha elections. The defeat was very embarrassing for Congress. It is a different matter that Rahul Gandhi did not try to find a way out of this crisis. He continued to enjoy his trip to Britain. It is not that the family of Veer Bhadra Singh has shown loyalty to the Modi government for the first time. Vikramaditya Singh has also been in the limelight by praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi before. When the government led by PM Modi decided to change the name of Rajpath to Kartavya Path, Vikramaditya welcomed it.

He wrote in a social media post that changing the name of Rajpath to Kartavya Path is a welcome step. British rule is now over. Therefore, the names of the British on every building should be changed. Want to see mother as CM. After winning from Shimla (Rural), he had said that he wanted to see his mother Pratibha Singh, the President of the Himachal Pradesh unit of Congress, as the Chief Minister.

As a son, I would like to see my mother as the Chief Minister, but the decision in this regard will be taken by the winning candidates and the high command, he had said. However, in states like Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, Rahul Gandhi has not allowed old or young leaders of loyal Congress families to progress for decades. Supporters of these families allege that they have not allowed any young leader’s stature, i.e., political popularity, to exceed that of Rahul Gandhi, so Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot, Nakul Nath, Kamal Nath, Amarinder Singh, and the two Vikramadityas of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh (sons of Veer Bhadra Singh and Karan Singh) and Milind Murli Deora have not been allowed to progress.

The reality is that for many years, some Congressmen associated with the Gandhi family have been running a campaign behind the scenes against these royal families with various allegations. Now Congress is paying the price for it.
