Madhya Pradesh: At the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ rally in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, accusing him of disrespecting the Constitution.

Gandhi claimed Bhagwat had insulted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s efforts, stating, “A few days ago, Ambedkar ji’s Constitution was disrespected. He (Bhagwat) said that the Constitution did not grant us freedom, which is a direct attack on Ambedkar’s hard work, blood, and sweat.”

This came in response to Bhagwat’s recent remark that the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya should be marked as “Pratishtha Dwadashi,” symbolizing India’s “true independence” after centuries of foreign invasions.

Addressing Congress workers, Rahul Gandhi urged them to defend the Constitution “at any cost” if they saw it being “insulted by the BJP and RSS.” He went on to say that such statements amounted to “treason” and were “an insult to every Indian.”

Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Referring to past remarks by Shah in Parliament, Kharge said, “Modi ji and Mr. Shah have committed so many sins that they won’t find heaven even in seven lifetimes.”
On the day Amit Shah participated in a holy dip at the Maha Kumbh Mela, Kharge questioned whether such acts could eradicate poverty. He alleged that BJP leaders were engaging in symbolic gestures for media attention, stating, “Does taking a dip in the Ganga end poverty? Does it fill people’s stomachs?” However, he clarified that he did not intend to question anyone’s faith, adding, “If anyone feels hurt, I apologize.”
