Grievance redressal cell functioning with lightning speed: Jitendra Singh

NewsGrievance redressal cell functioning with lightning speed: Jitendra Singh

Dr Jitendra Singh, overseeing six ministries, highlighted the efficient functioning of the government’s grievance redressal cell, noting its remarkable ability to resolve recent complaints, often within a week, due to its lightningspeed operations.

Speaking at the India News Manch 2023, Singh said, “When we talk about good governance, we think of it as a space where there is answerability and where there are grievances. Grievance is a very important aspect. But last governments have not given it importance. In 2014 when a new government (BJP) came, in the whole of India we would get only 2 lakh complaints. Now those complaints have increased to 20 lakh.”

He added, “And I was asked that is this because the complaints against our Government have increased. I said no the answer to it is given by Mirza Ghalib 200 years back, tawaqui he uthgayi khaali kyu kisi ka gila karre (when there are no expectations then why is there a need to make complaints).”

Singh said, “Every Friday I used to sit and we used to monitor these things, and today the situation is that almost 97% of complaints are getting disposed of every week. In around five days we address all the grievances. We have attached the state units with it as well and made it centralised grievance cell. And when it (addressing of grievances) reached around 98 percent, I said the grievances are getting addressed but the ones who grieve remain the same. To which my answer would be the disposal of grievances does not mean satisfaction.

He further talked about how the BJP has strengthened itself under Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose main objective has been to reach out to people and make sure the developmental schemes for the upliftment of society has reached them. Which (people friendly schemes) he believes would leapfrog the BJP beyond 400 Lok Sabha seats.
