Meet Leisha Sabharwal, a 10-year-old girl with a heart as big as her dreams, on a mission to save our precious planet. Leisha’s journey began when she realised the urgent need to take action against environmental issues. Fuelled by her passion, she founded the Mother Earth Club, a group dedicated to raising awareness and implementing small changes that collectively make a big impact. Leisha’s enthusiasm has not only spread within her school but has also reached the corners of her community and family. She tirelessly educates her friends and family about the importance of protecting environment, encouraging them to take small steps in their daily lives to reduce their ecological footprint.
One of Leisha’s most remarkable achievements was her meeting with the President of India. Determined to make a difference, Leisha boldly shared her actions and ideas with the nation’s leader. To her delight, the President not only listened attentively but also commended her efforts to make a positive impact on the environment. This recognition fuelled Leisha’s determination to continue her mission.
Leisha’s commitment extends beyond raising awareness—she understands the importance of concrete actions. Learning about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), she focused on Goal 13: Climate Action, and actively contributed by planting numerous saplings in her community. Leisha believes that every sapling planted is a step towards a greener and healthier planet.
In the Mother Earth Club, Leisha fosters a sense of responsibility among her peers, empowering them to take charge of their environment. Through engaging activities and discussions, she instils the values of conservation, sustainability, and responsible consumption. Leisha’s efforts have created a ripple effect, inspiring her fellow students to become eco-conscious citizens.
