CHANDIGARH

After the Nuh violence in Haryana, the government has removed IPS Varun Singla and gave the command of Nuh to Bhiwani SP Narendra Bijarnia. Tej Tarrar IPS Narendra Bijarnia is a 2015 batch officer. Even before this, he has been posted in Nuh for a long time, so he has a long experience here. But amidst all this, one of his anecdotes is also related to Anandpal, the biggest gangster of Rajasthan.

On the last day of the training, IPS Narendra Bijarnia made Anandpal encounter. For many years, all the teams of Rajasthan Police kept searching for Anandpal, but Narendra Bijarnia’s team first caught both his brothers and then after finding out the exact location of Anandpal, he was also a part of the encounter team. Before becoming an IPS officer, Narendra Bijarnia had also worked in the Central Excise and Custom Department.

On 31 July, after stone pelting on Brajmandal Yatra in Nuh, violence had spread in the entire city. Nuh SP Varun Singla was on leave at that time and due to this additional charge was given to Palwal’s SP Lokendra Singh. When the violence was not controlled, the next day the government withdrew the charge from Lokendra Singh and handed it over to Bhiwani SP Narendra. However, later on 2 August, Varun Singla also returned from leave. But the government kept Narendra Bijarnia in Nuh only. On 4 August, Varun Singla was removed and Narendra Bijarnia was made SP of Nuh. Even before this, Narendra has been SP in Nuh for one-and-a-half years. At that time, he had taken many big actions in Nuh. During his tenure, fear had arisen among the criminals who flourished here. However, later he was transferred in a routine procedure.

Originally born in a farmer’s family in Sikar district of Rajasthan, IPS Narendra chose police services after studying engineering from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. He was selected as an IPS officer in 2015 through UPSP. Prior to this, he was in the Central Excise and Custom Department between 2011 and 2014.

After becoming an IPS officer in 2015, he got posting in Sirsa district. As a trainee IPS, Narendra was sent to Sirsa district of Haryana in February 2017. Here he was given the charge of Thana Ding. An informer had given information to IPS Narendra that Vicky and Devendra, brothers of the infamous Anandpal, were hiding in the house of a person named Surendra in Sherpura village of Sirsa. IPS Narendra informed this to the SSP. The SSP had formed a team under the leadership of Narendra after giving information to the Rajasthan Police. The police force laid siege to the house and arrested Anandpal’s brother Vicky and Devendra with weapons. During interrogation, both had informed about Anandpal’s hiding in Malasar in Churu district.

After this, IPS Narendra, along with his team, met with Rajasthan’s Special Operation Group and laid siege to Anandpal. Seeing himself surrounded by the police force, gangster Anandpal fired about 100 rounds, injuring two policemen. The police retaliated and killed Anandpal. This day was the last day of his training.
