NewsTMC’s motive to give message to particular vote bank: BJP MP over attac k on Sadhus

DHANBAD: Slamming Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal over the recent attack on Sadhus in the state, BJP MP Jyotirmay Singh Mahato said that the incident was indicative of TMC’s intention to convey a specific message to a particular voter demographic. Notably, a video went viral on Friday that showed a group of seers being purportedly stripped and assaulted by a mob in the Purulia district of West Bengal. “It is Mamata Banerjee and TMC’s motive to give a message to a particular vote bank.

They wanted to give a message that they have not changed. This is Mamata Banerjee’s message for the next elections. For 24 hours, no action was taken. Two to four innocents have been arrested and the real culprits are free. The FIR also has such sections which are easily bailable,” he said. Meanwhile, twelve people who were arrested in connection with the assault on three Sadhus (ascetics) in West Bengal’s Purulia were brought to the Raghunathpur Sub-Divisional Court in the district on Saturday.

Recently, lashing out at the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal over the Purulia incident where a group of sadhus (seers) were allegedly thrashed by a mob, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that “appeasement politics has created” such an environment in the state. “Appeasement politics has created such an environment….The question is how Bengal is being driven by this appeasement politics.
