‘NEET re-test to be on 23 June’: Centre tells SC

Legally Speaking‘NEET re-test to be on 23 June’: Centre tells SC

NEW DELHI: The Centre informed the Supreme Court on Thursday that the decision to grant grace marks to 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates has been rescinded.

How to opt for re-test?

These candidates can opt for a re-test on June 23. If they choose not to participate, their previous marks, excluding grace marks, will be considered. The re-test results will be declared on June 30, with admissions counselling starting on July 6.

Despite 67 students scoring a perfect 720, including 6 from a centre in Haryana’s Faridabad, the court declined to halt the counselling process, raising suspicions about irregularities. On June 10, scores of students protested in Delhi, demanding a probe into the alleged irregularities, with claims that grace marks contributed to the shared top ranks.

What’s NTA?

The NTA conducts the NEET-UG examination for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.
