Inner child healing is about reclaiming joy, creativity, authenticity: Anisha Dutt

Anisha Dutt, healer and life coach from Zariya Healings, shares her take on what inner child healing is.

Most would attest to losing the connection to their inner child in the fast paced life of today. Sadly, the loss of this connection often results in long-term trauma stemming from our childhood experiences. Those keen to address this issue can turn to a healing modality known as inner child healing. Anisha Dutt, healer and life coach from Zariya Healings, shares her take on what this is and how to go about it:

Q: Please tell us about your healing practice.

A: For over 11 years, I have been deeply immersed in the healing and life coaching space, integrating a diverse range of modalities to support transformation. My work combines distance healing, frequency healing, somatic practices, tarot healing, yogic healing, intergenerational trauma healing, and a fusion of over 50 powerful techniques to facilitate deep, holistic treatment. Each method is carefully selected and personalized based on an individual’s needs, ensuring a transformative experience.

Specific to inner child healing, I offer one-on-one sessions, and my latest offering is the Deep Clearing program, a transformative six-month journey focused on resolving a single core issue at its root. The program begins with a comprehensive orientation call, where I guide participants through the program structure, expectations, homework obligations, and a portal walkthrough. It includes a minimum of six powerful rituals designed to clear past baggage, realign energy, and anchor future intentions with positivity and purpose. Additionally, participants receive six one-on-one sessions tailored to uncover and heal deep-rooted challenges, release ancestral patterns, and prevent recurring issues. To support ongoing transformation, I provide daily Reiki energy healing, ensuring continuous energetic support for the mind, body, and spirit, fostering lasting and sustainable healing.

Q: How would you describe the concept of inner child healing?

A: Inner child healing allows you to reconnect with versions of your younger self that experienced wounds at different stages of life. These unresolved emotions shape our adult lives, influencing our behaviours, fears, and relationships. By acknowledging, nurturing, and integrating our inner child, we uncover deep insights into our current struggles and unlock healing at a soul level.

Many of the emotional patterns we struggle with as adults, such as fear of abandonment, low self-worth, or difficulty trusting others, stem from wounds formed in childhood. When these wounds remain unaddressed, they continue to manifest in our relationships, career choices, and even our physical wellbeing. Inner child healing helps us understand and rewire our responses, release limiting beliefs, and step into a more empowered version of ourselves. It is not just about revisiting the past but about reclaiming lost parts of ourselves.

Q: What is the importance of inner child healing in today’s context?

A: Today, more than ever, people are grappling with anxiety, disconnection, and unresolved emotional wounds. With the increasing pressures of modern life, social expectations, and the overwhelming presence of external validation through social media, individuals are becoming more disconnected from their authentic selves. By engaging in inner child healing, individuals learn to acknowledge and process their suppressed emotions, leading to increased emotional intelligence, resilience, and a profound sense of self-acceptance.

Q: Please share cases of inner child healing that have benefitted your clients.

A: Healing Abandonment Wounds:

A client struggled with deep feelings of rejection in relationships. No matter how much love she received, she always felt a sense of impending abandonment, leading to anxious attachments. Through inner child work, she connected with her younger self, who had felt unseen and unimportant as a child due to emotionally unavailable parents. By consistently affirming her worth, visualizing her inner child being

nurtured, and practicing self-compassion, she shifted from seeking external validation to feeling secure within herself. Over time, her relationships improved as she no longer approached them from a place of fear but from self-assurance and emotional security.

Releasing Fear of Failure:

A client who always hesitated to take risks traced his fear back to childhood moments where he was criticized for making mistakes. He realized that he had internalized the belief that failing meant he was unworthy. In healing sessions, he embraced his inner child’s creative spirit and rewrote those experiences through guided visualization. He allowed himself to explore new opportunities without fear of judgment. Over time, he gained the confidence to pursue his dreams without the paralyzing fear of failure, leading to new career opportunities and personal growth.

Healing Generational Trauma:

A client carrying deep guilt and emotional burdens from her family history worked on healing her inner child by practicing Ho’oponopono and ancestral healing. She had grown up in an environment where self-sacrifice was expected, leaving her feeling responsible for others’ happiness. By acknowledging the emotional weight passed down to her, she gave herself permission to release it, freeing herself from generational patterns of self-sacrifice and emotional suppression. This transformation allowed her to set healthy boundaries, prioritize her own needs, and experience relationships from a place of mutual respect rather than obligation.

Q: What is the process involved in inner child healing? How long does it take?

A: Inner child healing is an intuitive process involving guided meditation, journaling, energy healing, and deep somatic work. It requires a safe space to access childhood emotions, communicate with the inner child, and release stored trauma. The length varies – it can be a single session that sparks a breakthrough or an ongoing journey of self-exploration.

Healing is not linear. Some individuals may experience profound shifts in just a few sessions, while others may require continuous work to uncover and heal deeper wounds. The key is consistency and patience.

Q: Who stands to benefit the most from inner child healing?

A: Anyone carrying emotional wounds, experiencing recurring patterns in relationships, or struggling with self-worth can benefit immensely. It’s especially powerful for those healing from childhood trauma, grief, or abandonment issues. People who often feel triggered by certain situations, experience difficulty in setting boundaries, or find themselves stuck in toxic patterns may discover that these struggles are rooted in childhood experiences. Healing the inner child allows them to shift these patterns and create healthier dynamics in their personal and professional lives.

Q: What are the benefits of inner child healing?

A: Some key benefits include:

l Emotional freedom and resilience

l Healing attachment wounds and creating healthier relationships

l Increased self-worth and self-love

l Breaking free from generational cycles of pain

l A deeper connection with intuition and inner wisdom

l Greater clarity in life purpose and personal direction

Inner child healing is not just about revisiting pain, it’s about reclaiming joy, creativity, and authenticity. When we heal our inner child, we open the door to living a life that feels empowered and deeply fulfilling. Healing is an ongoing journey, but each step taken toward understanding and nurturing our inner child brings us closer to our highest self.
