While India’s skincare market is indeed thriving, it is difficult to find products that are safe for use by young ones. To remedy this situation, Puddles recently launched its first COSMOS-certified organic skincare range in India. Aimed at providing skincare for kids (ages 2-10) and teens (ages 11-17) that is science-backed and made with plant-powered formulations, the range is designed specifically for young, sensitive skin. Further, the products from this line are dermatologically tested, toxin-free and enriched with FDA-approved and Ecocert Cosmos organic-certified ingredients.
According to Aditya Kumar Gupta, founder and managing director of Puddles, the aim of launching this brand was to, “Revolutionise skincare with nature’s goodness.” He explains,
“Puddles combines the purity of nature with scientific innovation to offer safe and effective skincare solutions. Each product is carefully crafted using gentle yet powerful botanicals such as oat protein, coconut-derived cleansers, rose geranium, vanilla extracts and hyaluronic acid, ensuring deep nourishment without the use of harmful chemicals.”
With these principles in mind, Puddles offers a number of key products. The Puddles Kids Happy Hippos Sunscreen is a mineral-based sun protection formula made with vanilla extract and raspberry seed oil. It is enriched with USDA organic ingredients for a safe and natural skincare experience. The Puddles Kids Unicorn Magic Mist is a refreshing facial mist with coconut-derived cleansers and wheat protein to keep young skin hydrated. Similarly, the Puddles Kids Unicorn Magic Foamwash offers gentle cleansing with its oat protein and coconut-derived ingredients. The Puddles Teens Organic Foam n Glow Facewash is powered with cica, rose geranium and vanilla to calm down sensitive teenage skin prone to flare-ups. Last but not least is the Puddles Teens Organic Face Serum – Morning Nectar, which is infused with 1 percent hyaluronic acid, rose geranium, and chamomile to banish any dullness.
“Puddles is committed to creating skincare that is 100 percent cruelty-free, dermatologically tested and free from parabens, sulphates, silicones and artificial fragrances. With an emphasis on sustainability, we ensure ethical sourcing and eco-friendly packaging. Ours is a pioneering organic skincare brand dedicated to providing safe, effective and clean beauty solutions for kids and teens. Our product range is backed by scientific research and natural ingredients to ensure adherence to the highest standards, making self-care fun and worry-free for young users,” says Gupta.
He adds, “We created Puddles to give parents and children the best bath time experience, because for us that has been the most fun part of the day (and night!) growing up. It’s a time when you see dads and moms get silly, clouds of foam go flying everywhere and new hairstyles are tried aplenty. Being parents ourselves, we know that worrying about the welfare of our children comes with the job and can often get in the way of being silly. Which is why we have created effective, gentle and safe products at Puddles, all containing a powerhouse of ingredients. Which means we are not holding back when it comes to delivering the love and care that our children need. Every product has a combination of high-quality, organic ingredients that are meant to work together to be as effective and loving as possible.”
Speaking about the brand’s commitment to all things sustainable, Gupta shares: “And all this goodness comes in packaging that is biodegradable or recyclable. We also offer refill pack options for our customers to further reduce their bottle consumption. Even our delivery boxes and outer cartons are 100 percent paper based. Why do we do this? We believe that mothers need all the kindness and love we can give them and that begins with being kind to Mother Earth. So, when your kids ask you if you are recycling, or doing right by the earth you can say yes with a smile. So let those worries be washed away, turn those frowns upside down, give each other a big, giant hug and jump in.”
Puddles’ latest skincare collection is aimed at teens as it is designed to tackle common adolescent concerns like acne, breakouts and dandruff on the scalp while ensuring gentle, safe and effective care. Gupta shares, “Each product in the Puddles Teens Range is enriched with organic and good-for-you ingredients like willow bark, basil, cica, turmeric, organic Parijat essential oil and coconut cleansers. These have been carefully selected to cleanse, hydrate and soothe young skin. These dermatologist-approved formulations are pH-balanced and free from harsh chemicals like parabens, silicones, SLS, GMOs and synthetic colours – ensuring that the user’s skin and hair is healthy and nourished.”
The newly launched teen skincare range includes Puddles Teens Acne Away Face Wash, Puddles Teens Acne Away Serum, Foaming Facewash, Morning Nectar – Hydrating Elixir and Gnite Glowdrops – Night Oil. The Hair Care range which is targeted at sorting out dandruff, includes the Puddles Teens Dandruff-Defying Shampoo, Puddles Teens Dandruff-Defying Conditioner and Puddles Teens Dandruff-Defying Hair Serum. There are also bath and body products like the Frangipani Vanilla Butter Bliss Soap, Vanilla Vibes Body Mist, Spearmint Butter Bliss Soap and the Mint Rush Body Mist.
“With rigorous lab testing, we have confirmed that Puddles Teens Anti-Acne Face Wash and Serum provide clinically proven efficacy against C. acnes, helping teens achieve clearer, healthier skin. The dandruff-defying haircare range is also scientifically validated to improve scalp health and combat dandruff naturally. Puddles remains 100 percent cruelty-free, vegan, and eco-conscious, ensuring all products are made with green packaging and ethically sourced ingredients. With this launch, Puddles continues to redefine teen skincare and haircare by offering safe, effective and clinically-tested solutions that empower young individuals to embrace healthy, radiant skin and hair. The collection is available at leading online and retail stores,” says Gupta.
He ends with, “We are excited to expand our product portfolio from kids to teenagers and we are confident that the market will welcome our new introduction. With a focus on safe, effective, and organic formulations, we aim to provide kids and teenagers with the best skincare and haircare solutions tailored to their needs.”
