Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi

Meal for two: Rs 1,200  (without taxes)

Sixth Empirica is the latest restro bar in the list of multi-cuisine eating places in Delhi. The menu offers a variety of choices in international cuisines and authentic Indian food. Though the specialty of the place lies in serving authentic Mughlai food, its all inclusive menu makes it a perfect place for people looking to find diversity in terms of food available under one roof.

To begin with one could try their World Map on Platter which is an assortment of starters taken from French, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, American and Portugal cuisines. This food item is provides a flavoursome introduction to the preferred dishes in these different parts of the world. It is recommended that visitors should try their large variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes from the elaborate menu. A selection of kebabs and paneer tikkas are featured here.

Chef’s special dishes like paneer mughlai lajawab, chicken corn dog, tandoori kacha aloo ki ant and the like will not disappoint the visitors in terms of flavour and presentation. The delicacies served at Sixth Empirica are sumptuous and the service is prompt and friendly. There is also an array of cocktails to choose from here.

The rich interiors of the place are another reason people can look forward to visit this restro bar.  Escalating across two floors with a roof-top, Sixth Empirica was the brain-child of the brother sister trio Ankit Kapoor, Ekta Chhabra and Shweta Sehgal. The furnishings of the place are done in brown and gold. There is a strong presence of decorative elements at Sixth Empirica but despite this the place looks spacious and doesn’t make the adornment look over the top.

Kapoor speaks to Guardian 20 on the décor. He says, “The name Sixth Empirica has been derived from the royal Egyptian Era and the interiors of the restro bar reflects its beauty and magnificence. The decor and interiors of Sixth Empirica is its USP which sets it apart from others. Sixth Empirica comprises of a lavish space of three floors for family and friends to enjoy a gala time.”

As per its purpose restro bar witnesses a large number of people in the later hours of the day. Occasional DJ nights are also a regular feature at this place. They have a small area in front of the DJ space for people interested in dancing. Somehow, Sixth Empirica is successful in making a space which would appeal not just to youth but also to families looking to dine out and at the same time savour the experience of a bar. It is better if one reserves the table beforehand to save themselves from standing in the tiresome queue as the space is usually full of people.

Sixth Empirica promises to be a hotspot within people who are looking for a joint experience of a dining space and a bar.
