The Utpal Shanghvi Global School and Prabhavati Padamshi Soni International Junior College organised a civic awareness drive in support of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the occasion of Children’s Day.
The civic awareness drive was flagged off at 8am on 14 November by the management of Utpal Shanghvi Global School and Prabhavati Padamshi Soni International Junior College, along with chief guests Ameet Satam (MLA) and Renu Hansraj (corporator, ward 69). The event saw groups of students, parents and teachers performing peace marches, street plays, flash mobs and jingles. An in-house crowd of over 3,000, comprising students’ parents and staff of USGS & PPSIJC, participated.
Jayesh Choksi, president JPES, explained, “Cleanliness is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing process and we have taken our first step towards it by undertaking the sustainable development project. Children today need to be sensitised in order to be successful global citizens of tomorrow.”
The event ended with formation of a human chain across the entire area of Juhu, by joining hands for a cleaner environment.
