The Netherlands Armed Forces Day was celebrated at the residence of Alphonsus Stoelinga, Ambassador of Netherlands to India, here on Thursday.
On the occasion, the Ambassador welcomed the new Defense Attaché to India, Peer Tas. On India-Netherlands relations, Ambassador Alphonsus Stoelinga said: “In economic and business relations, we are clearly on the way up, with connectivity between our countries shooting up, within two years, from one to five direct non-stop flights between India and the Netherlands. And with the number of Indian companies establishing themselves in the Netherlands up this year with 350%. In aviation terms: Brexit is clearly providing us tailwind. In politics and foreign policy, India and the Netherlands are partners: the Netherlands supports India’s permanent membership of the UN Security Council and we are lobbying for India’s membership of the NSG.”
