Top business delegates around the world to be part of Vibrant Gujarat

Jean-Marc Ayrault, French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will lead a 147-member French delegation to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, on January 10. Reflecting its prominent position among leading foreign investors in India, France which is a partner country of the Summit, is committed to partnering with the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat.

French Nobel Laureate Serge Haroche, renowned for his work on atomic physics, quantum optics, the study of the photon, and developing laser spectroscopy, will also participate in the Nobel Laureates Conclave during the Summit.

The French business delegation will include 60 French companies with expertise in the sectors of energy and power, urban development, water and waste management, aviation and logistics, agrifood industry, multimodal transport, IT and communications, planning, housing, industry (biotechnology, ceramic and metallic coatings, dental, electronics, pharmaceuticals, textile), consulting, and banking and finance.

Gujarat is not only one of the fastest developing states of India but also one of the most attractive destinations.

CEOs of leading French multinationals including Electricity de France (EDF) and Cap Gemini will attend the CEOs Conclave.

On this occasion, Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France, will also visit the trade show on France. The show will hold a country seminar on January 11 at 10 am, in Hall 2, Country Hall 1, at Mahatma Mandir, focusing on two key topics: energy requirements for the future and integrated urban transportation for the smart city. 12 experts from France will share their innovative proposals for transforming waste to energy, smart street lighting, off-grid solutions for smart villages, solar cell manufacturing, ticketless solutions for urban transport, smart parking and railway stations of the future, amongst others.

Gujarat is not only one of the fastest developing states of India but also one of the most attractive destinations for hosting investments. Therefore, Vibrant Gujarat 2017 has attracted 60 French companies from across diversified sectors either already established in India or willing to develop their activity here. France invests in India, makes in India and innovates in India.

To enhance an already very successful Indo-French cooperation, the Regional Economic Department of the Embassy of France in India and Business France remain at the disposal of Indian authorities and companies to further develop bilateral economic relationship.
