Advanced disaster response vehicle deployed at Mahakumbh

NewsAdvanced disaster response vehicle deployed at Mahakumbh

Mahakumbh’s emergency vehicle features tools to handle disasters and accidents.

New Delhi: As part of preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, a cutting-edge multi-disaster response vehicle has been introduced to bolster safety measures and disaster readiness. Equipped with advanced tools, the vehicle aims to protect lives and streamline emergency responses during the event, ensuring the safety of millions of devotees. Among its key features are a victim location camera and state-of-the-art equipment designed for efficient disaster management.

According to Pramod Sharma, the nodal and chief fire officer for Mahakumbh, the vehicle is equipped to handle various emergencies, from natural disasters to road accidents. It includes a high-capacity lifting bag capable of handling weights between 10 and 20 tonnes, facilitating the rescue of individuals trapped under debris. Additionally, it is outfitted with specialised machinery to lift and move heavy objects weighing up to 1.5 tonnes.

The vehicle is also equipped with tools designed to cut through and spread strong debris in case of emergencies.

The victim location camera is particularly effective in detecting people trapped within collapsed structures. An inbuilt generator ensures uninterrupted operation of electronic devices, even in challenging scenarios. To safeguard rescuers, the vehicle carries protective equipment such as life jackets, life rings, and life buoys. Furthermore, a temperature-measuring device enhances its capability to provide accurate readings during fire-related incidents.

Sharma highlighted that this advanced vehicle would play a crucial role in assisting the administration in managing emergencies during the Mahakumbh. Beyond the Kumbh Mela, it will also be utilised for other disaster management operations, making it a vital asset for the region.

Apart from this, for the first time, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will organise a stunning drone show at Mahakumbh 2025. This captivating event will light up the skies above the Sangam Nose area in the evenings, providing devotees with an extraordinary visual experience.

District Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh shared that the drone show will be showcased during the opening and closing ceremonies of the event.

A fleet of approximately 2,000 illuminated drones will narrate the legendary tales of Prayag Mahatmyam and the Mahakumbh. Iconic events such as the mythical Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) and the emergence of the Amrit Kalash (nectar pot) will be brought to life, crafting a magical visual narrative against the night sky.

The show will also emphasise the religious and spiritual significance of Prayagraj, offering pilgrims and locals a unique and unforgettable experience. The spectacular drone show will be a major highlight of Mahakumbh 2025, offering a memorable and awe-inspiring experience to visitors and residents alike.

On the other hand, former Union Minister and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, during his visit to Prayagraj earlier this week, urged society to remain vigilant against what he called the “communal contamination of conspiracy syndicates” targeting Indian culture. He criticised a “pseudo-secular syndicate” for exploiting communal riots for political gain and stressed the need for dialogue over conflict to heal historical scars.

Naqvi praised PM Narendra Modi for fostering inclusive empowerment, enhancing India’s global standing, and countering communal polarization. He lauded CM Yogi’s strong actions against criminals and rioters, calling it essential for maintaining security and harmony.

He criticised the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance as a “cobweb of confusion”, highlighting internal conflicts and predicting their defeat in the 2027 state elections.

Naqvi accused the opposition of undermining parliamentary dignity with superficial protests and dynasty-driven politics, asserting that the people’s trust would safeguard India’s constitutional democracy.

Mahakumbh 2025, set to take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, is shaping up to be a grand cultural event. Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision, extensive preparations and beautification efforts are underway across temples, ghats, parks, roads, and flyovers. Visitors will enjoy unique attractions like floating restaurants, water activities, hot air balloons, and laser light shows. Starting in early January, a musical fountain laser show on the Yamuna River at Kali Ghat will add to the festival’s charm.
