NewsCONGRESS STARTS WORKING ON ‘ORGANISATIONAL ISSUES’, finally

Cong seeks report on organisational situation at booth level by Jan 30.

With the Lok Sabha polls round the corner, the Congress is now contemplating to ascertain the situation of the organization. Interestingly, this week forms carrying some questions have been issued to the coordinators appointed on Lok Sabha seats across the country, which they have to fill and send by January 30. In it, information has also been sought about those departments which have not been created till date even in the states.

Along with this, details have also been sought regarding the frontal organizations. The situation of the frontal organizations is that the national president of Mahila Congress was appointed only recently. Seva Dal is not functional even today. Indian Youth Congress and National Students Union of India are discussed because they have processes like elections and interviews. This means that money power influences the process of selection of the Youth Congress president. If elected, getting a ticket in any poll is certain.
Rahul Gandhi himself had started this tradition. However, a large section of the party was never in favor of elections. Due to this, the condition of frontal organizations at the district and block level is not good.

Even Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has not been able to form his complete team till date. Many posts in state, district, block and city committees are still vacant in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Haryana.
The information sought from the coordinators is as follows. The first question is how many block committees are there in the parliamentary seat and which ones have presidents. If not, then why. After this, what is the situation up to the Mandal and Panchayat level?

Details of all posts at the booth level? Details of frontal organizations have been sought. The status of the departments and cells of All India Congress has also been sought.
The Kisan Congress cell, Tribal Congress cell, Ex-Servicemen Department, OBC, SC, ST and Minority Departments and Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Organization etc. are included. Among these, departments like Kisan Congress, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat have not been formed at the state level.

The efforts of the party sound good, but the question is that the time for the exercise is wrong. Congress is paying a heavy price for not organising its departments.
The party has never been able to take tough decisions regarding the organization. After the entry of Rahul Gandhi, the organization became even weaker. Now there is no activity in the party headquarters like before. Officials who have been running the party for years come and go as per their convenience. No one has any interest in meeting the workers. Even National President Mallikarjun Kharge cannot make major changes in the central organization by wishing. Even today decisions are taken by Rahul Gandhi only.
