Delhiites can now get birth certificates, trade licences and other municipal receipts and documents delivered at their doorsteps under a new initiative launched by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), emulating the success of a similar paid service offered by the Delhi government.
The MCD passed a proposal for doorstep services in an in-house meeting on Thursday. People in Delhi can avail doorstep services starting October, said Shelly Oberoi, MCD Mayor.
The MCD passed a proposal for doorstep services at an in-house meeting on 31 August. In the meeting, the major agenda items were the doorstep service, the rise in the allowance of MCD councillors, and the formation of a new managing committee for the Hardayal Municipal Library.
The MCD will start door-to-door delivery of 23 services in October including birth and death certificates to trade licences and factory permits. The MCD will accept applications for doorstep services at the toll-free number 155305. The MCD will also appoint a mobile assistant in every ward.
Shelly Oberoi, MCD Mayor, while interacting with the press at MCD Headquarters, Civic Centre, said that MCD had passed the proposal for doorstep delivery of its 23 services. “We will now implement a doorstep delivery system in MCD by following the Delhi government›s model. Delhiites can avail of these benefits by calling the toll-free number 155305,” Oberoi said.

The services available through door-step delivery are: Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Modification in Birth Certificate, Application for New Health Trade Licence, Renewal of Health Trade Licence, New Factory Licence, etc.
