‘Plan to demotivate BRS in Telangana’

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha’s arrest by enforcement directorate this week has been done under a plan to demotivate its cadre and adversely affect its performance in Lok Sabha elections, BRS party insiders opined.

Leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Assembly K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter Kavitha was arrested in connection with Delhi liquor policy case by ED, which comes under central government helmed by BJP. The party insiders suggest that her arrest could demotivate their cadre and affect performance in the elections.

The plan to arrest her in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, according to party insiders, was designed even before the state’s assembly elections. However, the arrest was seen by BJP to generate sympathy wave in favour of the regional party. So, the plan to arrest her at that time was dropped, they added. However, a BRS leader said, now when the party is weak and considerably less enthused, the regional camp led by KCR may not be able to create a sympathy wave for itself.
