‘YSRCP will contest all 25 LS seats in Andhra’

News‘YSRCP will contest all 25 LS seats in Andhra’

Party is confident of at least repeating the performance of last polls, says senior leader Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, will contest all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the general elections scheduled to be held next year and is confident of at least repeating the performance of last elections, a senior leader of the party has said.

‘’Just like the last time, YSRCP will contest all 25 Lok Sabha seats. We are optimistic of outperforming ourselves. Given the support that YSRCP and Chief Minister Jagan are getting on the ground, we are confident to win all 25 seats this time around. YSRCP is fully prepared for both Lok Sabha as well as the upcoming Assembly elections. Our government has worked tirelessly and efficiently to deliver 98.5% of the poll promises made in our manifesto (Navaratnalu). Given the people’s trust and support, we are confident that we will break our own record and perform better than the last time. We got 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, this time we are confident of winning all 25 Lok Sabha seats,’’ senior party leader Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy told The Sunday Guardian. He said that though anti-incumbency is usually a strong factor otherwise, but in Andhra Pradesh, the case is different. ‘’In the last four years, the YSRCP government has performed very well on all fronts and served the people good governance with the motto ‘No Citizen Left Behind’. Under CM Jagan’s able leadership, we have been able to fulfil 98.5% of our poll promises and have provided people DBT (direct benefit transfer) via various welfare schemes so as to support and uplift them. The CM’s priority has been to invest in human capital and we can very well see the results of the same be it the state’s economy, the growing per capita income, agriculture, education or health sector. The state has made huge strides across departments and is today one of India’s biggest investment hubs.” “The YSRCP government has brought revolutionary reforms across sectors because of its ‘people-first’ approach. Be it providing financial aid to farmers, or giving hassle-free loans to MSMEs, our government has been at the forefront. We have created twice the number of jobs as compared to the previous government. Today, Andhra Pradesh has become India’s fastest-growing economy at an 11.2% GSDP growth rate and, in parallel, our government has been able to deliver the money in the hands of the people through various DBT schemes to uplift their social status,’’ he said.

‘’We have worked hard in the last four years and the results of the same are starkly visible. The people of the state have seen the difference on the ground. They are seeing Andhra Pradesh progress, they have experienced AP’s growth trajectory firsthand, and therefore, anti-incumbency won’t be a factor in AP,’’ he said.

So has the party identified weak constituencies, if any? The Rajya Sabha member said it is a continuous exercise and the party is aware of the areas where it is strong and areas improvement is required. He said the party has a clear idea of all constituencies and specific strategies have been drawn by the higher leadership for all seats.

‘’These strategies are being further implemented by the Regional Coordinators, District Presidents, and AC Coordinators appointed by the YSRCP High Command. We have structured strategies and programs in place and have a very effective monitoring system. We are confident that with the ongoing work, we will be placed ahead of everyone else. We have earned the trust of the people with our hard work and we will continue to do so,’’ he said. Reddy said he does not see TDP-BJP-Jana Sena Alliance (if forged) as a force and a challenge to the party in the upcoming elections.

‘’Both TDP & Jana Sena are nowhere in a position to challenge us. The leaders of both parties lack vision. They are a confused lot and working for the people is the least of their priorities. They have no agenda whatsoever to serve the public or make Andhra Pradesh progress. Their only aim is to somehow whip up an alliance so that they remain politically relevant. The BJP on their part has made it clear that they won’t trust TDP again. Meanwhile, the people of Andhra Pradesh themselves don’t trust either the TDP or Jana Sena. In such a scenario, together or alone, such parties are no competition to the YSRCP,’’ he said.

‘’When CM Jagan just entered politics and launched his own party and contested the bypolls, at that time also, all the Opposition parties (TDP, JanaSena, CPI(M) & Congress) directly or indirectly tried to come along and pull him down, but he stood as a rock. Even today, they are trying all means to pull one man down, the same man who has always put the state’s interest above all. These people can never be a force to corner us,’’ the YSRCP leader said.

The senior leader who was elected to the Upper House in 2020, said welfare along with holistic development is the vision of the party and the same would be the main plank in the elections.

“In 2019 itself, CM Jagan had laid the roadmap of Andhra Pradesh being a role model for the country to follow. With such thoughtfully designed, strategic schemes, our government has not only been able to provide social security to the downtrodden but has also reinforced the idea of transparent administration, prioritizing people. Our governance is based on four pillars: Investment In Human Capital, Optimum & Affordable Healthcare For All, Quality Education & Value Creation. We promised revolutionary reforms and we delivered. In fact, I am proud to say that we are the only Government in the country that has fulfilled 98.5% of its promises in 4 years itself. So, our main plank this election will be the remarkable work we have done in the past coupled with CM Jagan’s commitment and credibility,’’ he said.

Reddy said the party has no plan to contest elections in the neighbouring state of Telangana. The YSRCP had won 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 general elections.
