CCP lobby targets Trump Cabinet picks

opinionCCP lobby targets Trump Cabinet picks

The CCP lobby failed in their disinformation and misinformation efforts at denying Donald Trump a win in 2024. This was carried out mainly through western social media platforms, as well as through Chinese platforms popular in the United States. Now they are gunning for Tulsi Gabbard, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, John Ratcliffe and other China Realists, all of whom have been given key responsibilities by President-elect Trump. The lobby would prefer individuals such as many in the Biden administration who nurse the illusion that the CCP could be persuaded to moderate its behaviour, rather than continue on its present expansionist course. Donald Trump promised change, which is what he delivered in the list of Cabinet appointees he has announced so far. More than loyalty, it was a clear sense of direction and an ideology based on what was good for the US which guided his choices. More than a few of his key appointees, such as incoming Secretary of State Marco Rubio, are among the most brilliant minds in the US Senate together with Vice-President elect J.D. Vance. Minds that have adjusted to the change in realities caused by the efflux of time, unlike many in the Biden administration whose minds remain tethered to the needs and priorities of yesteryear. The Biden picks were fully onboard with President Biden in the futile efforts that had been made throughout the 2010s and are continuing, which are to use Ukraine to weaken Russia. Instead, they have weakened Ukraine, which is on the cusp of losing its access to the Black Sea together with Odessa, not to mention the loss of the Russian-speaking districts of Luhansk and Donetsk in 2014, when a Colour Revolution replaced a Russia-friendly regime with a Russophobic one. Xi Jinping must be grateful to Victoria Nuland and others for having caused actions which have had the effect of bringing Moscow and Beijing closer to each other than they have ever been in the past.
China is using this unnatural alliance to populate the border regions of Siberia with CCP loyalists, who respond to cues from Beijing rather than Moscow. The different inner responses of Russia and Beijing to the victory of Trump illustrate the gap in their national interests and why being with China comes at the expense of long-term security of Russia. From a national security standpoint, it would be desirable for the US to attempt to wean Moscow away from Beijing, starting with ending the war in Ukraine. The conflict there has resulted in the entry of Russia into the Chinese orbit, besides causing inflation and damage to the currencies of the West through financial sanctions on Russia. In particular, the Biden sanctions weaken the position of the US dollar as the global currency, which is something Trump seeks to reverse. Rather than their leaders, it is the electorate in western democracies that has understood the folly of such a strategy, and have been punishing its perpetrators in election after election since 2022. French President Emmanuel Macron is going the way of Biden in seeking to send his principal opponent Marine le Pen to prison, something that will raise her popular appeal and lower his. Thus far, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has avoided the mistake made by Biden and Macron, and has not so far prosecuted Alice Welder of the AfD despite pressure within his party to do so. The CCP lobby may be spending billions on its infowar operations, but no such operation can fool all the people all of the time in any country.
