AMBALA: Kartikeya Sharma appeals to voters to ensure a clean sweep for BJP in Haryana.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Ambala and Sonipat, Haryana, on Saturday, spearheading the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp rally, aiming to secure all ten seats in the state. Haryana goes to the polls on 25 May, in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
He appealed for blessings from the people of Ambala for the next five years.
PM Modi said, “Haryana means courage and determination. It is the land of truth, but Congress has lied on this land. Haryana is ‘dhaakad’…Just like Haryana, Modi has run the government for 10 years in ‘dhaakad’ manner. Today, when you see Rafale aircraft in the skies of Ambala, don’t you feel proud? I have come to seek your blessings for the next 5 years…”
He also criticised the Congress for deceiving farmers. “We bought grains from farmers worth Rs 20 lakh crore in 10 years under MSP. This means three times more grain was bought from farmers. Congress had kept farmers’ dues of Rs 60,000 crores pending. We sent Rs 6.5 lakh crores to farmers’ accounts. We started the drone revolution in farming,” PM Modi asserted.
He accused the Congress of cheating Indian soldiers and of the first Bofors scam in the country which was done by Congress.
Prime Minister Modi said, “Pakistan had been troubling India for 70 years. Today, Pakistan is moving around with a plate in its hands. In Congress rule, there was terrorism in Kashmir. Our sisters and daughters were afraid. Today, there is peace in Kashmir.”
“Our soldiers didn’t even get clothes, shoes, or bulletproof jackets. They were given sticks and told to fight terrorists. I started the campaign to make our soldiers self-reliant. Today, the Army is receiving Made in India weapons,” he added.
“We are connecting women with this campaign. Sports are being promoted in Haryana. For Congress, vote bank is everything. In Haryana, Congress has a broom in hand. In Punjab, Congress says those with brooms are thieves,” PM Modi said.
He further highlighted initiatives such as Make in India in defence manufacturing, ensuring that the country’s armed forces are equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry.
Taunting the opposition, he said, “The I.N.D.I. Alliance has exhausted all its options.”
He also lambasted the Congress for its alleged mismanagement and corruption, citing infamous scandals such as Bofors and the AgustaWestland deal.
“This election is to make India self-reliant. I appeal to vote for BJP candidates,” said the Prime Minister.
Among those surrounding Prime Minister Narendra Modi were former Haryana Chief Minister and the BJP’s Lok Sabha election candidate from Karnal, Manohar Lal Khattar, the party’s Ambala and Kurukshetra candidates, Banto Kataria and Naveen Jindal, and Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma.
Speaking at the rally, MP Kartikey Sharma praised PM Modi’s ten-year tenure and CM Manohar Lal’s work. Sharma said, “Manohar Lal provided jobs to the weaker sections of society. He ran a government with a clean and good image.”
“When I was studying in England, I used to see India at the international level with other countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. But now, whenever there is a global crisis, the children of neighbouring countries walk with the Tricolour in their hands because the pride and power of India’s flag are recognised internationally,” Sharma said.
Sharma appealed to everyone to make the slogans of the Modi government successful once again and ensure victory for BJP candidates on all 10 Lok Sabha seats to make PM Modi stronger.
