New Delhi: The proceedings in both Houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were suspended for the second day on Wednesday after being adjourned twice amid ruckus over demand for discussion by the Opposition on the Gautam Adani-indictment issue.

This follows the Opposition MPs raising questions and submitting notices to move adjournment motion in both the Houses of Parliament to discuss the Adani indictment case, the ongoing strife in Manipur and the riots in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.

Congress MPs Manickam Tagore and Manish Tewari filed notices in the Lok Sabha, demanding debates on the regulatory and oversight implications for India as a business destination following a U.S. court indictments against the Adani group.

On Manipur, Congress MP Hibi Eden also called for a discussion on the deteriorating situation in the state.

Similarly in the Rajya Sabha, Vice-President and House Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar rejected as many as 18 notices submitted by Opposition MPs demanding a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the Adani case, the Sambhal violence and increase in incidents of crime in Delhi.

The winter session of Parliament session began on November 25, with both Houses adjourning early due to disruptions on the first day itself.

The sittings in either House did not take place on Tuesday (November 26) due to the celebration of Constitution Day.

The winter session will continue until December 20.
