‘BRS has failed to provide adequate number of government jobs and this has created a negative sentiment among voters.’

NEW DELHI

BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao, one of the biggest names in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and also the working president and Industries Minister, is contesting for the fourth time from his three-time winning ground Sircilla.

Political observers said that the three-time MLA has had great influence in the weavers’ community called “Padmashalis” and the people living in the constituency, as he is the only big leader contesting from Sircilla.

However, some political analysts believe he may garner fewer votes than last time as recently the TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) Group 1 examination paper got leaked and this issue could impact his poll prospects as this “political family is not available for public interaction”. Last time in 2018, he won with a margin of over 89,000 votes.
Also, in these nine years, the party failed to provide adequate number of government jobs and this has created a “negative” sentiment among voters that the party is unable to fulfill the demands of the people and youths. The people of Telangana also have a problem with the stance of the ruling party, as the CM and big ministers from the CM’s family are inaccessible to people and only come out during the election season.

IT minister and son of ruling Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao began his political career in 2009 when he contested the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Elections from the Sircilla Assembly constituency.

He won by a close margin of 171 votes, defeating independent candidate K. K. Mahender Reddy.

In this constituency, there are a total of 1,84,427 voters in the seat, which includes 91,139 male voters, and 93,275 female voters.

In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Sircilla recorded a voter turnout of 80.57%. In 2014, the turnout was 73.62%. Sircilla is an Assembly constituency in Telangana and is part of the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency. Sircilla comes under Rajanna Sircilla district and the North Telangana region of Telangana. It is categorized as a rural seat.
