Mr X is flying too high

NewsMr X is flying too high

There is a huge buzz in the political corridors about a senior organisation man—also a Member of Parliament—in an important political party trying to project himself as consequential in the party hierarchy just because he believes that he has the senior-most leader’s ear. It seems he offered a colleague, who is a part of the party’s topmost decision-making group, an exit, and a senior post in a committee that is not as important. The plan, say sources, was to elbow out the colleague, who our protagonist sees as a competitor.

But even after much flattery and cajoling, the colleague refused to leave his post. When the senior-most leader of the party was told about the manoeuvres, he retorted, “X bahut udh raha hai aajkal (X is flying too high these days)”. It seems Mr X needs to curb his tendency to project himself as the gate-keeper to the senior leader’s office and as the man who matters in the organisation. Who knows when his wings will get clipped?
